A native of Gainesville, Florida, Sharp began working scientific flameworked glass in 1997. In 1999 he made the transition to furnace worked glass. Working with Glass has brought Sharp across the world and has been a guiding force in his life. Ben has worked with many forms of molten materials from flamework, furnace work, casting, and color production at BullsEye Glass in Portland,Or. He received his BFA from Alfred University in 2006, and has taught at the Corning Studio in Corning, NY and The GoggleWorks in Reading, PA. In 2009 Ben relocated to the west coast to be the Studio Technician at Pilchuck Glass School. Moved to Portland, Oregon in 2016 with his wife, daughter to join the amazing team at Canned Heat Glass.
