Kacie Lees

Kacie Lees is an interdisciplinary artist and professor based in Brooklyn, New York. Lees’ vivid works examine affective qualities of light and tertiary spaces. Lees received her BFA (2008) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL, and her MFA (2012) from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Notable solo & group exhibitions include Worldview: Anthropology of Eco-Vision at Fondazione Palmieri in Lecce, Italy (2020); Chromatic Aberrations at Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan (2020); Necessary Phenomenon at O’ Project Space in Los Angeles, CA (2019) & Hollow Boom on Governors Island, NY (2018). Lees was part of the Pulse Laser Holography Program at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH (2018), has been a Light Artist Resident at the Center for Holographic Arts in New York, NY (2017) & her work has been published in Reader’s Digest (US, 2015) and Plasma Interplanetary Magazine (Germany, 2018).
